I just bought a Futaba FP-7FGK, and I know it's not gold stickered. Is it possible to get it up to date? It's in mint condition.
Thanks,

If it's FM, you're fine (7FGK was made in both AM & FM versions), otherwise, check the FAQ
Quoted from Futaba's FAQ (click here)
Is your TX either FM (PPM) or PCM or both? If so, it is legal, no matter what Futaba model it is. ALL Futaba FM and PCM transmitters met the standard.

Just to clarify further: Wide band transmitters are illegal, but wide band receivers are legal.
However, it is undesirable to use a wide band receiver in today's crowded airwaves, since it will be far more susceptible to interference and will respond to signals on neighbouring channels.
