Default JR 783 Resale value?

Hey guys, I've been out of the hobby for about 3 years, and realize that the introduction of spread spectrum has changed some things. I am not going to be able to rejoin the hobby, so I'm thinking of selling off my equipment. Does anyone know if the JR 783 has any resale value. I have no idea if it is still legal/works with the new frequency set up. If it is still good, what can I expect to get for it? Thanks

Alex

why not keep your 783 and just install a spektrum module? I did that with my 8103 and can use the same spektrum module in either of my 783's also.

It's still a good radio. It is out of production, but still can get serviced. I agree with Mike. Get the Spektrum module and start flying it until you know what you want to do. As for price, I would only offer you $50 for the transmitter only. The DX7 is $349 new with everything. Also if you need to replace batteries, which is very possible a new radio may make more since.. Hard to spend $30 on a battery for a $50 radio. Dennis

Or just use it as is . . . 72MHz didn't suddenly break when all the lemmings charged over to 2.4 . . . If anything, it got better! Less folks to contend with for channels!

What is the 783? Is that the overseas version of the 378. The 378 does not have a module. Cannot be coverted to 2.4 easily.

From RC Groups:
"....i have a old JR 783 transmitter like new with a module plugged to the back of it..."
Seems there is such a thing as JR 783 and it is modular.

Now I remember it. I gave it to my son quite awhile ago. You are correct that it does have a module. Its resale value isn't much. Maybe 25 to fifty dollars.
