Default How? Flaps with a JR 8103 HELP!

I have a JR 8103 radio I want to set up for center flaps in my Top flight Contender. I've messed with it all I want. I want to ask someone who actually knows what they're doing with this radio

JR's manuals only seems to talk about SOME of the radios features. I've poured through it and cant find anything about how to set it up. I've figured out most of it, but cant get the aux1 FLAP switch to operate the flap. It will, but you have to also use the flap knob.... Grrrrrr

Please someone help me out here, I want to fly it!

Default JR 8103 Flaps

If you just want to use a switch for flaps, I would use the Land position of the Flap Mix switch. Go to Landing in the menu and program the amount of flaps you want. You can also set some elevator to compensate for any pitch you get when dropping the flaps.

As for the Flap Pot, scroll upward through the menu and stop at a function called FLAP POT. Press Clear and it will inhibit the pot.

Another thing you might try is to use the Land position for take off and program one of your mixes for flaps coupled to throttle for landing. Use another switch or the upward for this. I use the up position for take off and the down one for landing myself. Set the switch to activate the function, but set an offset in the mix. I use half throttle. After you arm the switch, when you reduce throttle, the flaps drop, but when you add power for a touch and go, the flaps automatically retract.

If you have any more questions, drop me an e-mail.

Default JR 8103 Flaps

Hey

Ed_Moorman

thanks for the tip with that explanation of mixing the flaps with the throttle, I never would've thought of it and just tried to keep flicking the switch. :stupid:
