futaba 6xas or JR xf 631?
Just had a quick look at the 631 on Horizon's site. Not sure about only two rocker switches for programming but JR is known for easy programming. The 631 has three less model memory (you won't believe how quickly model memory gets filled) than the 6XAS. The 631 does have digital trims though. The 6XAS has exponential and it appears that the 631 does not. The 6XAS also has two user mixes and other built-in mixes, and it appears that the 631 does not. The 6XAS also has simple helicopter programming. The 6XAS has proportional flap channel and the 631 only has flaps on an up/down switch.
The 6XAS is a more capable radio and you would probably appreciate its features over the 631. The 6XAS manual is first class, guiding you step by step in setting up an aerobatic plane with two aileron servos.
The 631 has less capability but is probably easier to program.
It looks to me that the 631 is easier to get started with but the 6XAS will allow you to grow with the radio and store more planes on it.

Get the Futaba for your Pizazz. You'll be able to do some fun mixing that you can't with the 631.
Proportional flaps means you can select just the right amount of flap desired. The Futaba has a knob that you turn for the flaps to come down, while JR has a switch where you get all or nothing.
