JR 12x Add MAN Feb issue
Anyone notice in the Feb issue of MAN the add for the JR 12X, not yet available, the very last line of the add refers to reference to Spektrum by permission of Bachmann Industries. Bachmann is a subsidary of Kader International, a large Asian toy manufacture. At last the source of Spektrum technology is revealed?

FWIW, the issue mentioned is only the name Spektrum.... They were using the name Spectrum for some train products and felt the naming was an issue.
The technology has nothing to do with them, and this issue came up long after Spektrum products were introduced to the market. I think the key source of the technology (Paul who is now a HH employee) is pretty well known within the industry.

Spektrum is used with permission of Bachmann Industries, Inc.
Spektrum radios and accessories are exclusively available from Horizon Hobby, Inc.
(This legal copy is referring specifically to use of the NAME 'Spektrum'.)
Have Fun,
David

The source is in the contiguous 48------BUT keep trying----process of elimination and all-----it is a mathematical probability------but not in one lifetime--- or several either.
Still certain that Spektrum is a not a Company???

I am still here and absolutely certain that Spektrum is not a company. When you learn the legal difference between a registered trade mark and a corporation then maybe you would be able to offer something useful! Pretty good chance that Horizon has Spektrum product manufactured by Kader, or do the Horizon boys travel to Hong Kong all the time for their health? The model train guys have been using a control system very similar for several years, guess who manufactures that.

After 40 years of earning a living doing credit and financial analysis on manufacturing companies using Dun & Bradsteet, the SEC, edgar, and the internet, I don't need you to tell me if something is a "company".

Hi,
Here is some public information that may be benificial in your pursuit of some factual information.
As I said, the origins of Spektrum technology are pretty well known by many in the industry.

You will need to click through for more details on this article.
Spektrum’s innovator Paul Beard receives the BMFA Ray Malstrom Award
For the record:
Spektrum is a Horizon Hobby brand (owned and controlled by a company called Horizon Hobby).
The technology and manufacturing are completely unrelated to Kader.
We Horizon boys go through Hong Kong from time to time to transit to many factories we use in that region of the world!
Have FUN, and enjoy the hobby,
David

At the bottom of the Newsletter (your link) it states :-
???
Bachman via Kader have a product line of trains in their "Spectrum" range. So why the above acknowledgment ?

Sorry, I must be as blind as a bat.... I still cannot see the link that requires the acknowledgment.
Spektrum has diddlysquat relationship to "Spectrum" of Kader/Bachmann from what I can see.
Confused !

RE: JR 12x Add MAN Feb issue
Thanks for the information, I understand that Spektrum is a brand name owned by Horizon, no problem with that. What irrates some of us is the marketing ploy by Horizon to represent it as a stand alone company under seperate ownership. Just where is and by whom are Spetrum products manufactured? And I really have a hard time accepting the disclaimer was added voluntarily to the JR adds. If you say Horizon's Spektrum technology is unrelated to Kader then I accept that, but then at least Kader has copyright protection on both spellings "Spectrum' and "Spektrum", or otherwise JR has no legal obligation to put the disclaimer in the add. We all know that most of the major distributors carry branded products , products sold under their distributor label, that they have manufactured for them, why the big secret to not reveal the real source of these products?

If it is Spektrum branded then it is manufactured by JR (Japan) factories in Malaysia, shipped to Horizon/Spektrum where they are fitted with the Spektrum RF section. (Apart from the DX6i which is manufactured in China).
The X9303 (DSX9) and the new to be released 12X on 2.4 are manufactured in JR's Japanese factories and are fitted at source with the Spektrum boards (shipped from Spektrum/Horizon to JR).
