Self centering throttle
I'm in the process of building a Toyota Hilux High Lift from Tamiya. It reqiures a 4ch self centering stick radio. I have an Airtronics VG6000 but it doesnt center on the throttle. Are there any radios out there that do this or can my VG6000 have a spring added to it? It looks like almost all stick radios are only used for planes and helis now,not like it used to be in the 80's when I first started R/C.
Thanks

RE: Self centering throttle
hahaha...well I mean for cars or trucks I should have been clearer on that. They didn't have the pistol radios for cars like they do now. They were stick radios...65 WOW! I do remember the box radios with the wheel though.

RE: Self centering throttle
Remove the back of the transmitter. You will notice all the gimbals have springs on them except the throttle. Move them and observe how the centering spring works. Really very simple. The throttle will have some sort of friction device. Remove the friction drag and install a small spring like on the other 3 gimbals. You can possibly modify an ink pen spring to work.
Should be a very simple mod.

RE: Self centering throttle
Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking I might have to find another alternative because this radio screams at me when the throttle is half open. I think the Fuataba Attack is one but I'd rather have more channels, just incase.
thanks again
