Default HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!! TRANSMITTER, RECIEVER RANGE PROBLEMS

Hi,
I just bought this new boat. I started to set it up and I struck a problem. The boat does not respond unless the transmitter is less than 30cm away from the reciever. (This boat is using a futaba radio system so quality should not be an issue.) I have fully extended the arial on both transmitter and reciever and there is still no improvment. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO PLEASE IF YOU VIEW THIS PAGE LEAVE A COMMENT.
Thank you for your help.

possibly low batteries or the antenna on your transmitter is not threaded down into its slot. most antennas are threaded down into the transmitter case for proper contact.

Does it use crystals? Could be a bad crystal.

I don't see it in the picture but I have never seen a crystal with paper or plastic around it. Might want to remove it if it comes right off.

Can't think what else. Still sounds like a crystal problem. Did the radio come with the crystals? Just wondering if it has the wrong type crystals.

Take the receiver out of the boat and pull it's antenna out straight. Put a servo on one of the channels so you can see it working and try a range check. If it doesn't give good range, return the whole radio setup and get another one.

If it does work like that you have shielding issues with the boat. Try installing the antenna in a different location. Is the boat carbon fiber or metal by any chance. They can effect range.
