Default Jr 4721

I purchased 3 of these servos used. They seem to be in pretty good shape with the exception of the chatter they are making even when they are not under load. Since this is my first experience with this type of servo, I'm just wondering if this is typcial for a JR coreless servo or do you think something is wrong with them and Horizon needs to look them over?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks!!!

The 4721's do chatter. Don't know the reason. Wait til you get a digital servo, you'll think the 4721's are quiet.

A problem with buying used servos is they are wear items. They take a lot abuse. It sounds like your servos could have a bit of pot wear. This should be fixed.

You should have the servos checked out and repaired if nessesary by Horizon.

I actually talked to Horizon already and they said the humming is normal for the 4721 because of its precision nature (i.e. always looking for center). For $30 an hour labor it may be worth my time to send them in though.
