I live in Norway and I am thinking of buying a new Futaba 2.4 GHZ from Tower Hobbies. Will this give me any problems? Are there any local variations to this system? What if I later buy a new receiver in Norway - will these communicate perfectly?

The only problem we can think of would be legal. A U.S.-purchased unit will not have the appropriate markings/labels on it that certify it as legal to use in Europe. It will only have the U.S. FCC identification number. No CE marking.

To my understanding, the Futaba sets from US or Europe are the same. The US sets doesn't have a CE label. This can cause problems when flying in competitions etc.
I would recommend buying the radio in Norway. [link=http://www.elefun.no]Elefun[/link] has pretty good prices!
The receivers are the same. I use a 617 receiver fra Tower with my TM-14 module bought in Norway. Works just fine

In Luxembourg I can use US purchased TX modules and receivers.
