Default What is the Futaba equivalent to HS-55?

I'm just got into electric planes with a PZ t-28.

I'm a little old school. I've been flying glo for years. I'm used to Futaba 3003 standard servos.

Now there is all this 'micro', 'mini', etc. I see lots of talk about the HS-55 servo. So what is the Futaba equivalent?

BTW. I'm looking at the GP S.E.5a that takes 4 micro servos. I looked at the Futabas at Tower and there's so many I don't know the difference.

What about the S3114? It says High-Torque. Is that a good thing?

I hear what you are saying about all the different designations. The best way to cross-reference I have found is to look up the dimensions and torque ratings and then see what matches. The Servocity website sells both Futaba and Hitec and lists comprehensive specs. Easy to match the two brands from there.

more torque shouldn't hurt anything. higher torque will probably cost more

actually the s3114 is the cheapest out of the 3111, 3113 & 3114, but seems to deliver the best performance. What's the deal with that?? [sm=72_72.gif]

3114's is the best buy for the $$$ in that range of servo-Same price as 55's but more torque and speed-at least listed that way. Just installed them on a Little Something Extra-Work Great.
