Default Antenna quick disconnect

Is it possible to put a quick disconnect on your RX antenna?

Default RE: Antenna quick disconnect

We have a guy at the field that does that with all his planes. He installs the antenna in the wings when building and then has a pig tail from the receiver to plug the wing wire into. He used a gold plated servo male and female pins for the connection. He has a background in electronics and is also a Ham radio guy, so I value his opininon here. I just haven't tried it myself. An important point is to keep the length from the circuit board to the antenna far end the same lenght as the stock antenna or you loose tuning and as a result signal strength.
