Default 138DP, 148DP, 149DP RECEIVERS

I have a 9CAP and want to upgrade all my 127DF receivers to PCM's. I only need 6 channels max. and I can find good 138DP's for a really good price, just wondering if you think that the 148DP and 149DP are that much better. Thanks

I prefer the PCM's over PPM's. It will give you nine full channels instead of the eight you get on fm. It enables you to use fail safe, and if you are using ignition engines, (gassers), it will be far superior to the PPM's. JMO

My 149DPs range check a lot farther than my 138DPs. However I haven't had any range problems with the 138s.

I think the R14DP is better IMO. I have had zero glitches or any other issues with several of them in gassers. I just bought one off classifieds a few months ago for 70.00$ from a reputable source rather than 159.00 for new. If it is going in a gasser I would go pcm for sure. If you talk to Don at DONS HOBBy SHOP, he will tell you this receiver has been being used for many years in many planes with ZERO problems. JME
