Default Futaba 2.4Ghz RX installation

Hi.
I want to install the two antennas from the reciever into two small plastic tubings. That seems like a very good solution that I've seen others use.

But I wonder if it hurts if the uncovered parts of the antennas are inside the tubings? Will that affect range?

The tube shouldnt be any more an RF barrier than say.. fiberglass or balsa etc. So long as its not metal or carbon it should be just fine.

My 2 gliders and 1 EDF all have the anttenna's in smal plastic tubes.
Works great and no change in range.

Check out my setup. I was a bit nervous because of the carbon parts which in my mind might cause some shielding problems. Yesterday I maidened my 2.6 CARF Yak absolutely flawlessly. During the low power range check I had a max range of some 80 meters which is considerably more than the recommended 50 meters by futaba.
