Glitchin' FMA Quantum 8
My electric sailplane will not range test past 35 or 50 feet with the antenna down.
Control surfaces jitter and motor goes on and off. I assume this is some sort of electrical interferrence since the receiver test OK out of the aircraft.
There isn't enough room to rearrange the components inside due to the small nature of a sailplanes fuselage.
Does anyone know of any type of barrier or shield?
Any other ideas?
Thanks
David

It's your ESC causing the interference. Try a different receiver or a different ESC, if there is no room to separate them.

What motor? If a brushed motor, make sure the capacitors across the input to the motor are still connected as well as the two from each power lead to motor chassis or ground.

It is probably not the electric (brushed or not) motor, because it's not running when the range check is done. The fact that the motor starts and stops, just like a glitching servo, indicates that the faults lies somewhere within the power supply to the receiver. You might even consider using a separate battery back and disconnect the ESC, by disconnecting the red ESC wire to the receiver.
