Charging Batteries? What Milli-amp
Hey all, was put of the hobby for awhile and lost my airtronics charger in the 5 years that lapsed. I recieved a free hobbico multi charger which you have to select the rate at which to charge your batteries. I'm currently running a 1100 reciever battery and a 700 transmitter battery. What rated ahouls I charge these at?
Thanks for your reply's

You should slow charge them at a rate of C/10, or capacity of the battery divided by 10.
1100mah= 110mah slow charge
700mah= 70mah slow charge

The charging rate measurement is not related to the number of cells. Most chargers have the ability to select how many cells to charge. Does that one have that?
4.8v would be 4 cells
9.6v would be 8 cells

If it's this one.....

Then it's just a set it and forget it unit. Looks pretty cool, too.

Hobbico does not have the best reputation for their electronics, but I don't have any direct experience.
Try posting your question over in the Batteries section and see if you can get some more answers.
Also, be very specific with what problems you are having. Keep in mind, that at C/10, you will need to charge a drained battery for 15 hours. Then you should dishcarge the pack and see what the capacity is. If it's less than 80% of the labeled capacity, you've got a bad pack.
