Default Servo Voltage

When a servo says it will take up to 6VDC does that mean it will take a fully charged 6v battery (which is more than 6v at full charge)?

Yep.

4.8v rating means fully charged 4 cell pack and a 6v rating means a 5 cell pack.

I agree. I've been flying a 6 volt NiMH battery. But I think I will start using a regulator to keep the voltage to the servos at 5.2v.

I run servos at 6.6 volts (two A123 cells in parallel - no regulator). No problems so far. These are JR DS8411 and Hitec 5955TG servos. Many others are doing the same.

Default RE: Servo Voltage

does anyone know if running two digital servos on a Y fitting for split elevator could cause erratic running servos.

I was wondering whether the Y could drop the voltage or current below what is required for two servos off of one receiver port using 4 cell NiMH reveiver pack.

It is possible, depends on many things such as quality of the connectors, size of the wires, internal impedance of the battery etc.
