Model memory chip for Futaba 9C
One of our club members wants to purchase one of the after market memory chips (similar to the CAMPAC) for his Futaba 9C. Do any of you know where such an item can be purchased? Preferably in the USA.
Thanks,
Cajuncharley

Check here on RCU, I bought a 256K from invertedflight here on RCU for about $65.00, they work with 8U's, 9C's 9C super and the new 10C

There are schematics out there that show you how to make your own with Radio Shack parts. Don Edberg, who wrote some excellent follow up books on Futaba computer radios, was selling these modules on his web site. I bought a 256k module and it supports up to 131 model memories. It was broken up into four 64k sections and you had to press a momentary switch, on the module, to change 64k blocks. You could, however, use the module with more than one type of Futaba radio model and thus avoid the incompatiblilty of the model memories of the different radios as each could be stored in it's own 64k block

I have been using the Hansen unit for about two years.
When I was getting ready to try it I was all concerned that it would not work right or be complicated...not so. Just plug it in and start programing new models. Super easy and a great product![sm=thumbup.gif][sm=wink_smile.gif]
I got mine from Radical RC because I wanted a few other items at the same time otherwise I would've gone direct.

The 256K module that I bought from Don Edberg's web site works fine in my 8AUPs and my 9CAP. I just have to change memory banks, using the button on the module, because the 9C model memory and the 8U model memory are not compatible.
I have not, yet, had the memory module set to the 9C bank when I put it in the 8U. Are you saying that if you inadvertently choose an 8U model memory, off of the card, when it is in the 9C, that it makes that 8U model memory Unusable again?

It's beyond me why Futaba and others does this. They could build in the memory for alot more models. The C10 is $600. They should have more memory built in for that price.
