I understand EMF= Electro Magnetic Field. This can be DC, this is what wipes out computer memory. Thats the memory that gets wiped out in your radio. IMO complete Barbra Striesand (BS) as the phone has its own and very similar flash memory. You are the one who doesn't understand.

News stories are over a decade old. People who had skull cancer's were claiming they were from the cell phones. Never proven!

Sport Pilot, you'd learn alot if you just listen to what Branded has to say. He's an aerospace engineer that deals with these issues on a daily basis.

There are people that visit this site from many diverse fields, and I'm also an engineer, and I can tell you that I agree with what he says.

You say you understand "emf", but I say your knowledge is limited to what you think you understand........
Aerospace engineers design shielding into every system to preclude the much feared EMP (Electro Magnetic Pulse caused by a nuke), and must demonstrate the ability of their designs to their customer by various tests in chambers, etc.

The interference, or equipment susceptabilty to extraneous RF Fields as Branded described is not a problem that's localized to hobby transmitters.

I fail to see what your argument is. The guy is only trying to teach you something. The risk exist, that's all he's saying.

We do not own a freq scanner which I believe can help us. A quick internet search revealed that the towers operate in a frequency range of 800 to 2200 MHz.

1) I am no expert but there is a huge gap in the frequencies of the tower and 72Mhz. What form of interference is taking place here ?

2) Can dual conversion and PCM Rx eliminate the interference from cell phone towers ? How does this work ?

Highly appreciate all inputs...........

Hi! I would suggest for you to try out Handheld Spectrum Analyzer in order for you to check the frequency of the tower.

The original poster posted this thread in 2003, damned near 20 years ago, SO, , , I'd be willing to make a wild arsed guess that he just might, MIGHT, , have solved the issue by now....

And, if not, I'll bet he's got a whole warehouse full of broken RC planes for sale..........
