Default Futaba Buddy cord conflict?

Good day!

My neighbor has a 6 channel futaba computer (Skysport 6 6ygfm) and a 4 channel analog (Skysport T4df).

Someone told him that you can't use a buddy cord between a 6ch computer and a 4ch analog (futaba)

Is this true?

I use a Hi-tech prism 7ch (computer) and a Hi-tech Focus 4 ch (analog) they are buddied together w/a futaba cord. Oodles of flights, training everyone with never any problems.

Thanks for any input.

That's false... you can use the either radio as a host or a buddy box.

Indeed, "Someone" was talking rubbish. The only problem you are likely to see is that, with the computer Tx as master, any clever mixing, exponential etc is lost when you hand control over to the 4-ch basic Tx. But provided both tranmitters are set up to fly the model correctly on their own then they'll work fine on either end of a buddy cord.
