The servos and electrical system should be compatible. If it is 30 or 40 years old, I'm not sure. But any current systems(last 20 years) should work.

Default RE: Futaba Rx.....JR Servos?

I have been operating with a mixed system for years. JR/Hitec male connectors fit in Futaba female connectors. If you are using Futaba servos or anything that has Futaba J male connectors, they will not fit in a JR/Hitec female connector without cutting off the Polarity Fin and beveling the corners on the connector. Sometimes, I will buy MPI Universal extensions which have JR/Hitec male connectors and Futaba female connectors. I mostly buy JR or Hitec servos and they come with JR/Hitec compatible connectors.

I do not believe there is anything in JR servo electronics that would limit it's use to JR only systems.
