Default Transmitter / Receiver Recommendations?

Hello everyone,

I was hoping for a few suggestions for a radio for the plane I will be building soon.

8' Senior Telemaster
Zenoah G20ei
Flaps
Spoilers (On wing top)
Bomb/Tow

I am open to 2.4 ghz or 72 mhz, it just needs to have the functions and channels to run all of those things. I would like to have multi-position flaps and spoilers, so that would be an added plus, versus "up and down."

Thanks!

Marshall

How much money do you want to spend?

The 10C and the x9303 are probably the best mid range radios out there right now.

You might as well start out with the 2.4 Systems ... It's State of the Art today ! You're gonna have to eat the 72 systems soon !! (Although I have both)

The Airtronics RDS8000 should be able to perform all of those functions easily enough. A 2.4Ghz radio system should be easier to set up with a gas/ignition system, too.

The previously mentioned Futaba 10C and JR 9303 2.4Ghz radio systems are also excellent choices, budget permitting.

I have a pretty expansive budget. But, I'm trying to stay under $1000. I'll be using this transmitter with other aircraft, so I'm okay with spending a lot.

Definitly go for one of the 2.4 systems. Choose the one that seems to suit you from what your needs are. I will make this comment. I have been using the JR Spektrum for 2 years and am totally satisfied with it. Others I'm sure can say the same for their selection. Check them out and make your choice. They're remarkable radios.

Look at my build thread for a Bruce Tharpe Flyin' King, similar to your giant Telemaster, http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_75...tm.htm#7626353. I used a JR R921 nine channel receiver with the X9303 transmitter. You will need eight or nine channels for flaps, ailerons, bomb bay, engine ignition, etc. unless you use a a standard and reversing y-harness for the flaps and ailerons.
