Default What is prefered volts for FASST RX?

Hi all

What is the preferred Volts for the FASST RX? 4cell (4.8v) or 5cell (6v)?

Now many Futaba servo is rated on 4.8v only and rendered one to use 4.8v only.

But I have many hitec that loves the 6v for more torque and speed!

Does running 6v also aggravate the heat sensitivity issues of the FASST rx?

From wht I have found, I have both the Futaba Fasst 607 & 617, they both will except a 4.8 & 6.0 volt battery. I too have Hitec high torgue servos. All have worked fine for the last two years without incident. I recently got a FS6014 2.4 RX with my 10C and that calls for a 4.8 volt battery.
I think the heat issue is being caused when planes are setting idle in the hot sun, and it is advised to cover the canopy with a white towel to keep the cabin heat down.
I've been out flying in some pretty hot and humid days and the 607 & 617 have worked finne for me. I do cover the canopy with a white owel and keep the plane out of direct sun light. Hope this answers your question. You might ask BAX on the Futaba Forum.

hi Jesse, i 've been running the 617/607 on 5cell without any issues.Don't wrap them in foam if you can. They generate a bit of heat. That said, I've been flying one wrapped in foam without any problems-lucky I suppose.
The heat issues seem to centre on the 608 and particularly the 6014.
The 6014 has a lower output voltage which makes it incompatible with some other make servos.
The 617 has a bootup sequence which results in a wild swing to one side for some servos regardless of make and type. Someone has reported that it caused his servos to strip gears. I personally haven't encountered any stripped gears but I have some chinese digitals that swing wildly to one side on power up.It didn't do any harm as the gears are metal!
I suppose and hope Futaba will fix these in the next generation receivers, just wished they had solved all these gremlins before releasing them.

What about the 607 and 6ch RX? Only 617 do the wild swing on boot up?

About the 608 being heat sensitive as well, is a bummer for me. Because I need this for a glider with tight fuse that need 4 ch wing. With default grouping of wing setup, I need to use the 608 for my 7ch glider.

The 607/617 are the same. However, I must add that it happens only to some servos. The 608 does not exhibit this characteristic. All these receivers heat up a bit so don't cover in foam. Personally I prefer the 608 because of the 2048 resolution and additional slot for my voltage monitor!

You mean the 606/617 does not offer 2048 resolution?

606, 607 and 617 are 1024 resolution.

608 and 6014 are 2048.

I use 6 volts on these receivers, no issues.

Yes, only the 608 and 6014 are multi fasst systems offering 2048 and multiple failsafe. The 607/617 are 1024 ,7channel fasst systems and single failsafe programmable. You have to select the system you are using from your transmitter.

If that is the case, I got to get 608 for my pattern setup than... the rest 1024 will suffice

Don't feel bad, neither does Spektrum offer 2048 resolution at seven channels, you have to go to nine channels with Spektrum for 2048 resolution
