Making spoilers/flaps out of ful span ailerons on Spektrum Dx7??
Hi All,
I know I can make flaperons out of them, but what I'd also like to do is use the 3 position toggle switch so that in one extreme position they are 30% flaps, middle is neutral for ailerons, and the other position is for spoilers. Think it can be done?
TIA,
Steve

I think what you want to do, with this model radio, goes beyond the capabilities of it's programming.
I have owned many computer radios, both Futaba and JR. I am also familiar with the Spektrum DX7.
The features you are talking about are easy with the JR XP9303 and JR X9303 2.4.
The higher end radios cost more but they include features that the lower end radios do not.

Actually it is a really basic setup in the DX7,
Put right wing servo into aileron slot, left wing servo into AUX1
Set the Wing type to Flaperon, and set the servo reverse swithches to get correct aileron action.
Go to the flap system setup and change the values to get the travel you want. The center position default is "0" so the default setting gives you exactly what you describe but I suspect you will want to change the values to get the amount of up and down flap you need. You may need to use negative values to get either the flap or the spoiler depending on your setup.
No need to inhibit the switch as you will be using it.

Sorry!! I misunderstood what you were trying to do.
I had Cataract surgery on one eye. The other is due to be operated on in Dec. In the meantime, I can't read from a computer screen very well. One eye is very Long Sighted and the other is very Near Sighted.

I stay up late at night replying to RCU threads sometimes.
The darker the enviornment, the wider my pupils are, and the worse the focus is on the short end. The smaller the pupils, the more that is in focus.
Once I get the other eye done, I will get the proper Computer glasses.
I am also still using an Analog CRT monitor. Once I upgrade my PC, I can get a video card that will output to my 50" HDTV.
