Default Can any DSM transmiter hook up to a DSM receiver

I have a E-Flight LP5DSM recever with DSM2 technology and i want to know if i can bind it to the spektrum BR6000. If so how do i do it?

Their surface and air systems do not play together.

Well the LP5DSM is a transmitter, not a receiver and it is DSM2. The BR6000 is a robot receiver and it is DSM designed to work with the DX-6 transmitter. A DX6i as well as all the tx's above it can run in either DSM or DSM2, but I don't know if the little five channel tx which comes with the RTF products can do both, you'll have to call Horizon.

I was just perusing both the Spektrum and Horizon websites, they say it'll work with a DX-6 which is an air system if you will? I thought the distinction between surface and air went away with the 2.4GHz radios?????

You'd think, but trust me they are different and I have no idea how.
