Default 42% Products DX7 Super Cap for Spektrum Rx

Super Cap
42% Products , "Super Cap" Capacitor to plug into receiver to help reduce receiver resets due to volt drops…
Often used with Spektrum Receivers

I came across this on 42% Products website and wondered if anybody knows anything about these. I asked on the Spektrum radio support forum, but haven't got an answer. They are only $12.

Thanks

It is a simple concept really. It stores power for those short needs in the event of a power out...or brown out. I have a few of their products and they all were superior quality and worked as they said they would. I wouldn't think twice about buying again.....I have recommended several of their products that I have used and never had anyone complain. I bet this is no exception.

We used to charge them up then throw them to someone, the reaction is to catch it

If you have an adaquate power system I wouldn't think you would need one. Plus the recievers with the latest firmware reconnect instantly.

Spektrum has had such an animal for surface systems for some time and in answer to repeated questions about them here on this forum when Danny Snyder from Horizon used to answer questions here, he said they were not for use with air systems.

As BarracudaHockey indicated, the introduction of the Quick Connect firmware update pretty much negated any need for such a device and it will tell you on landing if you've had a power system brownout.

The updgrade is free if you have rx's without the Quick Connect firmware.

That is an assuption I would not make if I were you....

While it SHOULD have the latest firmware, considering the consequences of it not being installed and how simple it is to check, I suggest you perform the test outlined in the link I gave you.

Zeeb-I did the test and it was good. I turned Rx off and back on and I had control instantly. Thanks
