Default WHY MAKE A 27T MOTOR WITH 36 DEGREE ADV TIMING AND WHAT WOULD IT BE USED FOR?

Wasnt sure where to put this, so here goes.

Regarding timing on motors. I have a “stock”, hand wound, 27t Yokomo short stack, 36 degree advanced timing, wet magnet motor.<o></o> That’s a mouthful. The motor has tons of torque – maybe too much. Its in my pede. Thing pops wheelies and dashes around like all get out. Problem is it gets hot. I run it on 1800mah 6-cell packs and its geared 12t/87t. Why would the motor be advanced so far (it’s a fixed advance too)? What would be the proper application for the motor?<o></o>

Thanks!

Probably to be raced in stock motor class. More emphasis on power than life.
