so i accidently plugged in my battery directly to my ESC output (to the motor) rather than the input. did i ruin my ESC and/or motor?

i have a tamiya TT-01:
superstock RZ 23T
associated A.I. quantum runner reverse ESC
intellect 4600 battery pack
deans plugs all around

i just plugged everything back in, and the ESC works BUT, it is smoking like crazy! smells like burnt matches.

Generally speaking, if you let the magic smoke out of electronic devices they will no longer function and either have to be replaced or sent back to the service center so they can put the magic smoke back in....

You have fried it by letting out the magic smoke. I also dida stupid mistake with a Brandnew Novak GTB Speedo and 13.5T motor. Iwas used to track power 4900's and purchased a new lipo that had the ports reversed. I too let out the magic smoke in the pits at the races, and it also took out the motor (SHORTEDCOIL).
Iwas honest with Novak on the phone with what I did, and they told me to send it in, and they would see what they could do. Aweek later Irecieved all new equipment in the mail. NOCHARGEWHATSOEVER.
