Default Gas esc

Would a standard esc for an electric motor work with a gas motor?

what would be the purpose for an esc on a gas plane?

you control a gas motor with a standard servo

You can't use it to control the engine, but it could be used to supply voltage to the receiver and servos. Kind of an expensive and overweight way to do it, but you could. It would be nothing more than a voltaqge regulator for the Lipo packs.
