Default Mixing v tail on 3 ch glider to right stick

I have a Futaba 8 UAF and I want to mix v tail on my 3 channel electric glider to the right stick. I called Futaba and was told the only way is to change to mode 4 that would put rudder and elevator on the right stick then activate v tail mixing. I can't believe that this is the only way to do it. Has anyone had this problem and solved it another way? If I do it the way Futaba told me then I would have to make sure that I change back to mode 2 on all the other models before trying to fly them! How about using elevons and then mixing ruder and aileron? I don't know if that will work. Help.....

I'm a JR guy, So I can't take you step by step, but thus is what I would do.....

I assume that you already have the airplane working with rudder in the "normal" stick, so just make up a mix that takes the inputs from the aileron stick and mixes it with the rudder channel.

you can go the elevons way, or you could slave the rudder and aileron channels together like you would to counter adverse yaw. I think elevons would be easer.
