Servo mounting screws
Hi,
Where can I find those little Futaba washer-head servo mounting screws in bulk. I'm confident that they're not made specifically for Futaba (or other manufacturer's) servos , but I can't find them anywhere on line.
Has anyone found these things in bulk anywhere? I've checked places like McMaster-Carr, but no luck finding them there.
Thanks,
Bob

RE: Servo mounting screws
G'day Bob,
Try Micro fasteners, http://www.microfasteners.com/catalog/products/SSC.cfm
Or RTL fasteners, http://rtlfasteners.com/RC/index.html
I have used Micro fasteners, even here in Australia, great service, but shop around, for best price & service, for you.
In Micro fasteners web site, look under self tapping screws, & scroll down to servo mounting screws.
Enjoy.

Micro fasteners #STW0209 #2 9/16ths long Once You try these you will never go back to common philips or reed and prince screws. I buy them two three bags of a hundred at a time and its surprizing how fast they go. I tend to replace old philips in older airplanes every chance I get. I find myself tending to use them in place of philips on other applications to. Be careful of buddys wanting to borrow just a few.

Thats whats so great about them, they cut down on your installation time considerably. Using a nice long ball driver the screws will stay on the ball held sideways or upto forty five degrees down making it possible to install the screws from the ball drive in one move. No more trying to hold the screw with one hand and drive with the other or just getting it into the hole deep in the compartment.
About all I do with philips #2's these days is put'em baggies as give aways for the guys wanting screws at the field. I don,t give away the socket heads.

RE: Servo mounting screws
I read recently that thr Futaba Phillips screws are a Japanese standard rather than SAE or metric. Went on to say a set of Japanese standard screwdrivers could be had....at a price. Might be part of the reason they burr out so easily if using a regular Phillips.
