Default JR charging diode

Does anyone know if JR tranny's (specifically the 783) have a charging diode that needs to be removed to peak charge the pack? tia.

Default No Diode

JR radios don't use a diode in the charge circut. They do have a fuse that don't affect charging or discharging.

JR chargers are why the other transmitter brands have diodes in the charging circuit.

Cheers!

So why can JR protect their equipment with a fuse ?
Maybe Futaba could too !

I dunno -- that's a good question. I think that a fuse is supposed to blow when too much current is applied. And a diode protects against reverse polarity because it acts like a check valve. These seem to be different functions to me...

Does the fuse in JR equipment actually protect against reverse polarity chargers? Maybe someone with more EE knowledge will help out.

Cheers!

Right! I heard of a JR being ruined recently(charging with wrong connector/charger), so I think they should also have a diode!
