Default Best 100 oz/in servo for the buck ?

Greetings, I need some 100 oz/in. servos for the Frenzy with Saito 125 that I'll be assembling. I'm really thinking of getting away from the Hitec and Futaba servos for a change and trying some of the cheap but high powered ones. I'm looking at these servos from Dymond. Has anyone tried them?

Or would these servos from Hobby King be better?

Thanks for any input!

It's hard to beat the Hitec 645MG. They are the best servo for the $ around. Do you really want to risk your airplane to save $40.00 (4 x $10.00) on 4 servos?

I took the time to read the customer reply's. One fella wrote to the effect that he would trust only brand name servo's after his experiance with one of your choices. As he says "the poor man pay's twice". I agree that sevo's are an investment. A bad servo inevetably has catastrophic results.

Airtronics have just released a new range of value priced digital servos.

I have 5 planes in the air with these [link=http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/440601.asp]CS-601 servos[/link] They work very well. I run them at 6 volts. They just meet your 100 oz at 6 volts. The ones I have taken apart to check have had a ball bearing even though the description says nylon bearing.

I have these [link=http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/440704.asp]CS-704[/link] on one plane. I am VERY happy with them. I just received (6) of [link=http://www.hobbypartz.com/kahaoubrmo14.html]SG 5010 servos[/link] I will test them to see if they work well. Others have said they are good for sport planes. Some have complained they do not center. I do not remember reading about any failures. So I will test them on the bench and see if they do work well enough to be put in a plane.

I would not have any thoughts about using these in a plane. I have not flown any, but based on the other servos I have used from Cirrus, I would bolt them in and fly. [link=http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/440751.asp]CS-751[/link]

I am not knocking the Hitec's, I picked up (6) of the 645's and (2) were replaced. They were dead when I opened the package. They were replaced without question. I still have them. I buy servos for the need that they will preform. I am not hung up on name brands. They have had dudes too. I have been around long enough to remember when Hitec was just starting to make servos. They were not well thought of. Yet I flew them when almost every one else would not. They did not trust them. Now look at Hitec. Great company and GOOD servos. Things change in this hobby.

I am not saying to put a $5.00 servo in a high dollar high speed plane. Yet do not toss them out just because they cost $5.00, at least try them and see how they work. I bought my first Cirrus CS-601 because a friend said he had good luck with them. I tried (2) on the elevator of my Formula 3D. They worked well so I tried more. Now I have a really good servo for less then $10.00. I still have some of the Cirrus micro servos that are almost 12 years old and they still work. I just can not find arms or gears for them. When I crash and they are damaged they get tossed due to parts are not there, not because they are junk.

Dru.

I have heard that Digital servos are not recommended for Flaps. I believe it has to do with the fact that Flaps have to be held up at one end.

If you have a JR 9303 or 9503 tx, slowing the servo is a function of the Tx and analog as well as digital servos can be used. I do that with my H9 P47-150 and Hitec 645MG servos.

Thanks for all the replys guys. In the end..... guess I'll just get the Hitec 645's or Airtronic digitals and stay away from the cheap ones for now.....
