Monitoring dual batteries
Hey guys,
Did a search for this topic bu didnt really find an exact answer. I am wanting to run dual batteries in my Patty Wagstaff extra, i know how to wire them up (each with a sep. switch), but when i hook up my Voltwatch, will this give me a reading of the entire system?? (both batteries??)

I assume that this Voltwatch is plugged into an unused Rx output ? If this is the case, it will only show you the average voltage that the Rx is seeing. If one of your packs developes a dead cell while charging, (This is the time that most dead cells happen), you will never see it.
A more accurate way would be to check each pack individually, via the charge jack for each pack, using a loaded ESV. It's important that the parallel packs be somewhat equal in voltage.

You can check each pack individually with the voltwatch by just shutting the other pack off. On my dual pack heli's, fresh off the charger, turn one switch on and check voltage, now turn other switch on and turn first switch off. It is easy to detect a bad cell this way.
