Default AM / FM best for boat???

Hi All,
Just getting back into hobby. Started a-long-time-ago with Kraft 2 CH 27MHz but now outfitting old boats with new stuff...

Have 1 - 2.4GHz system but way too expensive to outfit all my models since I got a 1 CH memory unit and I would have to bind each one at a time and the marine receiver was $80.

Looking for best all-around surface radio system that I can pick up used or new but cheap and reliable.

Some TX/RX combos are cheaper than just the Spektrum 2.4 GHz marine receiver.

So does anyone know is AM vs. FM best for a Boat? And I see 27MHz and 75 MHz what's the difference??

Are these non-2.4GHz systems using analog or digital servos? Gas boat needs a 1/4 hi-torque servo.

There's so many options now so, IMHO, some expertise is in order?

Thanks, Harry

Default RE: AM / FM best for boat???

In general, FM is somewhat more free of interference. I'd stay away from 27 MHz though, as it is much more prone to interference.
