Default Futaba Question

Hello:

I'm going to buy a Futaba 8uap/8uaf 8 channel radio which is HAM BAND 50.880 Ham band channel #04. Is it a good radio for a new person to hold on to for his entire RC career? Is it enough for any plane that I can throw on it? Any input would be appreciated.....

It is indeed a good radio for many airplanes to come. The only caveat is that you must have a radio amateurs license to operate it.

Default Futaba Question

Yes a few cool people on this site told me already:

I don't have a HAM license but I was told I can change it to a 72MHZ by changing the frequency modulator. How much does these run? and how difficult is it to do....

Yes, just purchase a module that is the same frequency as your existing receiver.
