Older DSM 2.4 Equipment-Is it Safe to Use?
I recently got a small plane with a Spektrum DSM tx and a AR6000 DSM Rx. They look to be in good shape but I've heard there were issues with the older DSM equipment (lock outs, loss of signal, glitching). Is this equipment safe to use or should I replace it with the newer DSM2 equipment? I don't want (or need) to needlessly spend more money if this stuff will work.

What's a "small plane"?
The DX-6 tx and AR-6000 rx are for Park Flyers, if that's the size of the plane in question and the system operates per the manual, I don't see any reason to not use the thing as there are quite a few of those systems still out there in service. You do have to pay attention to the electrical system including the batteries and make sure you keep that up to snuff.

I have 12 AR 6000rcvrs in use in planes up to 40 size with no problems. They are full range. I bought the DX6 when they first came out and still use it for backup. Had to send the DX7 in for repair and luckily kept it for the use of. Wouldn't use it for 1/4 scale stuff as the short ants. could be blocked by all that iron up front.
