Help With Box Starter Please

Hi Everyone

A noob question coming up...........................

I purchased a usedbox starter off eBay, it works fine, I've set it up correctly but when I place the buggy on it, it dowsn't turn the flywheel, it just stops.Should I have done something to the buggy, like remove the pull starter? Sorry it sounds a bit dumb but I'm an RC newbie.

1. Single starter motor with fixed largehard rubberflywheel or twin 550 motors with drive belts?
either could be stopped due to battery(ies) flat and/or old and no longer producing amps. laters' belts slipping?
2. Engine flooded or compression to high. >. Many glow plugs for car and boat high compression engines have a torque bar so glow plug can be loosened 1/2 turn and tightened when engine starts..
