I thought you'd enjoy an actual screen shot from the home screen of the 18MZ. Watch for more images here and on Futaba's Facebook site over the next couple of weeks.

Here are a few more images from the 18MZ's menus. The 18MZ is equipped with bi-directional communication ability to the R7008SB receiver. A host of sensors may be plugged into the S.Bus2 port on the receiver to transmit data back to the transmitter. These include multiple voltages, multiple temperature, multiple, RPM (both optical and magnetic), fuel level, GPS data, altitude. Below are actual screen images from the 18MZ. Please note, specifications, screens, menus are still subject to change.

Dang, this must be another great radio from Futaba to get all the JR/Speckyfanboys in such an uproar! http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...ey/msn/lol.gif

RE: Futaba 18MZ
Why do they all put some stupid picture of an airplane that takes up a quarter of the home page? A simple A, H, or S should be enough for those that can't tell what model it is by the name!
|
RE: Futaba 18MZ
You can uploadphotos of Your plane, heli etc thereso it is displayed when You select a model and if You do not add a photo it is a generic picture like the plane showing there. I agree it takes up valuable space on screen but it is same on Futaba 14MZ and it is really no big problem (I have a 14MZ). /Bo</p> |

The 18MZ has a built-in serial bus that will allow you to program Futaba gyros that you'd normally use a PC to program (like the GY520). Now, no matter where you are, you only have to have your transmitter with you to make any programming changes you'd like to do. Below are two of the screens on the 18MZ that are used for programming the gyro.

The 18MZ has the ability to program S.Bus servos using it's built-in serial bus port. This port functions like the Futaba CIU-2 USB interface; the built-in software on the 18MZ gives you all of the programming ability that using a PC would give you.

Here is a screen image of the System Type menu from the 18MZ. No matter what mode you need to operate in, the 18MZ has you covered. From Futaba's FHSS, FASST, and FASSTest; the 18MZ will do it all. No modules are required, everything is built in.
To make things even easier for you, the R7008SB receiver can link to the 18MZ without even pushing the Easy Link button on the receiver, simply pushing the "Link" button on the transmitter initiates the process. Steve |
