Hitec Optima 7 2.4 Receiver

Got a Hitec question for you. I have a Optic 6 2.4 TX and an Optima 7 2.4 receiver. The manual shows how you can also power the receiver When using an electric powered aircraft, from the main motor battery power by plugging it into the SPC connector. I am not using electric aircraft, but can I use a regular 4.8v battery in the SPC connector to power the receiver ONLY and a 6.0v in the regular battery connector for the servos? I'd like to power the receiver seperate from the servos if possible, any help here would be appreciated.

You can. Run the servos from your 6v volt battery into any channel or the power channel (Not SPC).Run the RX battery into the SPC port after you take out the jumper.

Your Transmitter will show the voltage coming down via the Rx for the SPC battery only.

One caution. While Ifly glow models with no problems on 4.8 volts, lots of people here suggest all 6 volt operation as an added margin of safety. Why not just use one 6 volt battery of adeqate size?

PS, don't forget to monitor and charge both batteries! Also, since your Rx battery alarm is only monitoring the SPC voltage (4.8) volts you will not get any warning at the TX if your servo battery is low.
