update Futaba FP-8UAP

Good morning,

Back when I used to live in Europe I bought a FP-8UAP transmitter which is still working perfectly (no receiver though).

I recently move to the US for work and I would like to use it again after so many years.

I have questions regarding what I need to do to be able to use it:

1) what are the receivers that are compatible with my transmitter (for both PCM and FM)?

2) I have a FP-TP-FM RF module for transmitter based on 36 MHZ: do I have to change it? If yes, which module should I put in instead?

3) are all servos compatible?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome to the States:)
You definitely can't use 36Mhz over on this side of the pond. You could get a 72 Mhz module and 72 Mhz receiver, but since you're basically starting fresh with no receivers why not go 2.4Ghz?
Here's a link to a 2.4Ghz module that's very reasonably priced, and the receivers are also very reasonably priced.

All modern servos will work just fine with any of the current 2.4Ghz receivers, though some brands of receiver don't have the little slot for the tab on the Futaba "J" connectors, but the tab, or fin can easily be trimmed off if necessary.
Best of luck!!
Pete

Thank you very much Pete!
You really helped; I will get both the DFT module

and the receiver:

Have lot of nice flights!

Welcome to the good old USA. Where are you living here? I'm in Jackson, TN.

Good choice on trans module, I have been using the first model FrSky conversion on my 8UAP for about three years with no problems.

Gary, I am really glad you had good experience with FrSky.
I actually live in Idaho :-)
Both DFT module and receiver will show up in a few days. Let's see if I can fly at least once before winter hits :-P
Thanks again!
