Help with JR 12X Radio

Hi Everyone!

I have a JR 12X MV which was originally mode 1 but is now in-between mode 1 and mode 2 (I fly mode 2).

A couple of years ago I physically changed the transmitter from mode 1 to mode 2 (I swapped out the gimbal springs, throttle throw limiters, and changed the location of the throttle and elevator trims). I also changed the transmitter from mode 1 to mode 2 in the service menu (hardware menu).

Unfortunately, the transmitter still “thinks” it is in mode 1. For example, when I turn the transmitter on with my throttle in a high position, the alarm-screen will ask me to lower the right stick rather than the left stick (attaching picture). Also, the throttle and elevator trims are reversed. I did a bit of research on this and also found that I have an old firmware version installed (i.e. I don’t have the code #83 trim system update installed – my transmitter doesn’t display “moment” on the top right corner of this menu). Additionally, my transmitter displays DSMJ on its screen even though I am using a DSMX module. This all makes me think the firmware is mode-specific, and that I need to install a newer mode-2 firmware.

Could someone please help me figure out how to update my transmitter’s firmware? I think I might need a board programmer to achieve this.

Thank you!

Jose Majluf

PS: I already tried contacting Horizon Hobby, Radio South, and Dee Force Aviation (the new JR). Neither will do the update.

You are SOL That tx has not been supported for a number of years and the ownership of JR leaves you completely dead in the water as the new owners will not support Spektrum RF deck tx's.
