futaba 6xas band change

newbe question

I have a futaba 6xas at 72mhz. I want to use it on a battlebot at
75mhz. Do I only need to change the module on the tx to a 75 mhz and buy another reciever at same freq 75mhz? if so whats a good light reciever

thanx Tim

I don't think the 6X uses modules. The FAQs at www.futabarc.com answer this specific question, covering all the transmitter models and receives as well.

75 MHz receivers typically don't have more than three channels, so you would be looking at a converted aircraft receiver to use all the 6X's channels.

Phil,
Actually, we sell 75MHz R138DPs just for this use.

Please see the flat rates post in the Ask Futaba forum for info on costs to convert your 6X to ground. The 6X has no module so the radio itself must be retuned.

PS: the 9C is now sold in a ground package specifically for battlebot, tank, warship, and similar uses.

thanx for the great info I am finding out that quite a few battlebot people are using 6xas on 75 mhz.

Happy to assist, Tim! The 9C is actually far more flexible and a better choice for most complex bots but, of course, it is also pricey-er.
