Li-po's for receiver and servos only.
 

Can you use Li-po's to power the receiver and servos in a glow powered plane? It seems that the max voltage for receivers and servos is 6.0 volts. Single cells not enough voltage and two cells to much. Looking into the weight savings over other batteries. Thanks.

You use a voltage regulator . They make them for 6, 5.4 and 5 volts.

The max voltage is 6 but the minimum is 3.6, so yes, you can get away with using a 1 cell lipo to power your servos, but transit time and torque will decrease.

Why would you want to?
I know of a modeler that lost his house because the LiPos in his airplane in the garage caught fire.
I know another that uses Li Pos for his electric airplane but keeps them stored in a table top barbeque just to keep them safe.
You just want to save a few ounces in a glow powered airplane?
