Bouncing servos
 

This question has probably been asked a hundred times but I havent seen it before but why do my servos bounce when they return to center if the stick is flipped. New servos new extension new ba t pak 6V new reciever all futaba 3010 r 127 Thanks for any info.

The stick is flipped??!! :eek: Is this as in: drag the stick to an extreme and let go? If so, what makes you think that the springs on the stick will stop the stick in the middle with no overshoot? Instead, the stick will overshoot the center and then come back, and maybe overshoot a smaller amount in the opposite direction. If that doesn't define bounce, then what does? You're actually telling the servo to bounce.:D

How long do they bounce? Once, twice, multiple times? Fast, slow?

wisdom seeker this is exatly what i am doing it doesnt to it on my other planes

rtk they bounce mutiple times if Ido it slowly it works fine thanks for help

I have had a similar problem. It turned out to be a bad (corroded) extension. It would bounce multiple times even after the sticks had been completely centered. If I moved it slow it showed no sign, but moving the sticks fast or letting go of the stick it always did it.

Try unplugging and plugging in the extension at both ends about 10 times. Corrosion can form on a new unused connector.

Basic systems engineering 101- when you have a change in the resistance in a wire in a signal circuit ( ie the connections in your servo extension) you will get a reflected signal pulse back. This feedback is causing the servo to overshoot. The greater the resistance change the larger the reflected pulse. Spray your connections with tv tuner cleaner and plug and unplug the connection several times and the problem will most likely go away. If it doesn't check the extension and or servo lead for a loose/broken connection most likely in the plug. Avoid burying extensions in aircraft where you can't get to them to plug/unplug them every now and then as they "clean" themselves when they are plugged/unplugged. I would recommend against the use of extensions and have extended/soldered all my leads for the last 15 years without any problems.

Thanks it was a bad connection in a servo extension it was brand new and thanks for the tip on the tuner cleaner
