hitec servo slop...

Does it affect anything if a servo has enough slop to make a little tick noise when the control arm is wiggled? How will a stripped servo act in flight?

If the little tick noise is a nylon gear slippng you better open up the servo case and check it. :)

As to how it would fly with a stripped gear, let me ask you a question. If the steering gear in your car was stripped about the center - in other words it would only turn the wheels at the extreme end of the steering - could you keep the car going straight down the road?

Well the plane flew nicely before the hard tailtouch, then It seemed nervous on landing and flew itself into a fire hydrant  and ever since the servos have been sitting. Maybe I should just wait and shell out on some new servos...

Hopefully you've got someone in your club who can give you a hand - servo gear sets are pretty cheap and not too hard to install once you've seen how to do it. Don't put em back together dry - use a little white grease.

Send the servos to Hitec for service, the charges if any are minimal and the Service Tech will call for an OK prior to commencing with repairs. Hitec Service is very liberal with repairs and will often simply just fix and return products at their cost. Your only out around $4.00 shipping with USPS Priority Mail...
