2 servos on one surface 9zap
 

I'm trying to use 2 digital servos on the rudder of my H9 CAP. Servos are on opposite side of the fuse. I am using ch4 and ch8(aux2) and tried several mixes but only one servo has full travel. I know that ATV is 100% in all positions. I'm using a linear mix and have the link active.

As I said this is on a Futaba 9 Z....any ideas? I have match boxes on the ail"s but not on the rudder. I was informed that a PMIX would work on hte rudder.....but no joy yet. Thanks for any help in advance, Lou

what servo's. ? if hitecs, are they both programmed the same.

Have you had to use sub-trim to center each of the servos? Doing so will limit their travel, perhaps differentially.

Off the top of my head, ch 8 is not 100% proportional. Try using 6 or 7. I'll think some more about it. A p-mix will do the job.

Ok , I'm using jr8411's. I ran the SRV test function and graphically the servo (aux2 or ch8) only moves about half way or 90 degrees.

On one other screen the only graphical display only shows movement in the "A" area. It is not proportional as you said. No where in the manual does it explain what is happening...poor explaniations. The Futaba FAQ was no help either.

I'll try the other channels and see if that makes a difference. Can you get, with mixing, subtrim etc., two servos to work together so as not to fight each other and still be able to trim the master channel with out using a Match box? Thanks again, Lou

Also ch is being used for AIL....will see if ch 7 is free. Prior to setting up i reset all data in a blank model just to be sure all was ok and neutral in all positions.

Absolutely, Lou... Keep on it you'll figure it out.

A simpler approach might be to use an unused p-mix such as p-mix #4 that already exists and change the slave servo to the channel that you choose. Which could be channel #5, unless you used it for the second elevator servo.

Thanks for the encouragement. I did in fact use mix#4. Ch 5 is being used for the elevators....i'll keep plugging away. I also sent an email to Futabe but received the auto-responder which missed the point.....i'll keep recharging and punching buttons!

OK...took your clue re: CH 7 and it seems to work now, both physically and graphically. I have not set the linkage so zero out the "fight" yet.

Futaba 9zap & Futaba PCM 9 ch rcvr.

Ch 6 & ch1 = L & R ail (matchboxes)

Ch2 & Ch5 = L & R elev

Ch 3 = Thrtl

Ch 4 & Ch7= L & R Rudder (rt side reversed) and Batt in Batt CH

Mike Thanks for the head knock.....CH7 (aux1) did the trick for me. Not sure why CH8 would not work but i'm not going to fight it....thanks very much for the help. You guys are the best!
Had a friend stop by and he helped hoof the linkages up and not even a hummmmmm....in fact i have mre noise on the ails using the matchboxes! Spring is not far behind!

As two rudder servos may work on Ch4 and Ch7, the rudder digital trim can only be assigned to one channel so this is a problem I have setting it with my 9Z. There seems to be no way of assigning the T4 digital trim to two channels so I just went with a matchbox....

I think you are mistaken, I link the trim for the mixed channel to the master channel with my 9Z.

How do you do that? What are the steps? I tried using the FNC section to assign the T4 trim to AUX (CH7) and it removes it from the CH4.

Nevermind, I got it. I should have read the whole post before I opened my mouth. I have been using FNC where I should have been using P-MIX. Mix rudder as master and ch7 as slave and turn trim on. DAMN!!! I wasted $60 on this damn Matchbox.

Just left JR for Futaba 9ZAP. Have any of you guys had a problem after you used P-Mix # 5 for Elevator with aux2 as a slave on twin elevator servos, I cannot get my dual rates too operate both elevator and Aux2. It will only operate Elevator.

Is there a Link option on your mixer? I have that on my 9C and it makes it so that the surfaces will always act as one, without being interferred with by some other program.

I think I should have stuck with JR. I could program those radios in my sleep. I did a quick look throug the manual and did not find any reference too the link.

Have you tried the Ailevator function? If that doesn't work and you can't get an answer here, you can box up the radio and send it to me and I'll send you my JR 622 so you can get your JR fix ;).

ailavator is the way to go, all the links etc are built in. you can even have differential if you like. i am assuming that only 1 servo per elevator half.

Thanks for the help guys. I did try the ailevator funtion and that worked great. I do only have 2 servos per elevator and 3 servos per aileron.
