mostly synthesized tx/rx use in Japan??

Hi everybody.

I heard at the field that the Japan r/c modelers are using mostly synthesized transmitter/receiver. even the "classic"ones that "we" use with a crystal. eg.8103dt

is there any truth in this??
if so, why aren't we able to upgrade our tx/rx to synthesized devices????

Not exactly sure what you're asking, but I've had a Futaba 9ZAPS since 1993 and it's worked fine for me_bob

somebody said that almost all transmitters/receivers used in Japan are synthesizers. (channel changing from some buttons or a screw without changing any crystal.) even older models like JR-8103,but the export product line is simple crystal-compatible.(no synth) with minor exceptions. eg.some Futabas,evo9,etc.

if so,why?

Module

In the 9Z, it's all in the module with some screen updates on the transmitter. Maybe over there it's more cost effective or something?

maybe so,but if all this is true, why doesn't they sell that as an upgrade or something? I think it's a very nice tool to have.

Just returned from a 10-year stay in Japan, and at least in my neck of the woods I never even saw a "synthesized" TX. The guys I flew with used mostly standard Futaba or JR.

I believe you may be the victim of a rumor...  :D
