Battery and Speed Controller question
Hey,
I got a two questions: How many cells can the Maxx 25 amp speed controller carry: http://www.littleshopofhobbies.com/images/efla102.jpg couldn't find information anywhere on the net! Can i set up two batteries like this: 2x 6v batteries (Both have bec cables) http://www.onlybatterypacks.com/webi...ages/10004.jpg conected with this cable?: http://www2.gpmd.com/image/h/hrcm4701.jpg Can this work? (Should be 12v at the end) Would be used as a primary battery. Thanks! Nik |

Yes, but if that's a servo Y connector don't use it, you need heavier gage wire to keep it from over heating. ALL the current goes through the battery lines, servo wires are only really rated for a single servo. ESC's aren't really rated for # of cells, they're rated for AMPS. It depends entirely on the amount of current the motor you're using draws. The more cells the more current it will draw but the motor itself is just as important. Hooking the motor up in line with an ammeter and connecting it directly to the battery will give you a clue as to the current the motor uses at full draw.

The Y will give you 6 volts but double the amps for longer flying. For 12 volts you have to run the packs in series, this will give you 12 V but the amps will be what the pack says
