AR6100e Range?

What kind of range can I expect from the Spektrum AR6100e Rx? I'd like to put it in an electric ducted fan foamy with a top speed around 100mph. Thanks.

well- either you have eyes like a hawk - or an awfully big ducted fan foamie- if you can exceed the range of the 6100 -IF it is not being blanked out - at a true 100mph - this sized model will be out of sight in a very few seconds -unless yo are flying a tight oval shaped racecourse
even trying to get a true reading of 100 mph on a small model is tricky

9 seconds eats up a 1/4 mile

SPEKTRUM says NO on this kind of range -But I do it all the time -with very slow larger foamies-
If you are actually considering this rx with no prior exprience with it - for a small model at 100mph-- -It is a crapshoot .

RE: AR6100e Range?

I bought the new Hobby Lobby A4 w/ a Little Screamers Jet Screamer motor and 5-blade fan. On 4S lipo they're saying it's actually around 120 MPH. It's a very nice jet, but small.

I think I'll fly the first flight with the AR6100e and keep it close and slow, although I've got the AR9000 in there now w/ data logger. Both Rx untested as they are new. I'm told that the DX6 receiver is being used in a lot of different types of models and it’s able to handle the range.

I just can't seem to find any good info on range specs for the Spektrum receivers.

I understand that!
The range can really be as far as you can see--but itis a simple rx andifit gets blanked out YOU ARE SCREWED.
Some quasi experts say itis no good but so far h,aving used a bunch of em -I love em--
SPEKTRUM says--forshort range only-so there you go--

Ilso have the 7&9& logger andif'n I were you Iwould use the 7 or 9 rx for a fan setup-these things an be noisy-electrically-according to fanguys

The 6100 will have a reliable range of under 500 ft. Check out this full thread and investigation below... this was actually on page 2 of this very forum so not hard to find:

I've totalled a plane once already due to this limitation, and read the official email I posted from Horizon regarding the range. : ) Don't toast your bird, spend the extra $30 and get the AR6200 for this application.
