Eclipse Programming Problem?

Mike, I have a weird problem with my Eclipse radio. I was trying to program in Flapperons. I followed the instructions in the manual, but when I flew my plane, the wing would do a severe dip to the left with no input from me. I couldn't tell if the left wing servo was moving the aileron up or if the right wing servo was pulling it's aileron down. Maybe both ailerons were moving. I managed to land the plane safely, but couldn't seem to get rid of the glitch. I installed a Y connector and hooked it to the aileron port in the receiver. I now have no Flapperons, but haven't had further problems. Could I have done the programming incorrectly, or could I have a software glitch in Flapperon mode?

Eclipse Programming Problem?

I had a funny problem that turned out to be a tuning problem with the spectra module.

The direction of the elevator to flaperon mix would change after programming. The first time it occurred, I thought I had inadvertently caused it. However, it then happened several times later.

I sent the transmitter to Hitec & they "tuned" the spectra module. No more problems.

I don't know if this could be your problem, but it sounds similar. I recommend sending the transmitter to Hitec to check it out.

Eclipse Programming Problem?

BOBCL:

I sent the Eclipse to Hitec yesterday for them to check out. I keep getting glitches when I fly my UCD on model#4, but my other three models have no problems. Several buddies at the field said they get glitches from time to time. None of them have PCM. Several buddies have PCM on their radios and receivers, and swear they have never had a glitch. If Hitec can't find a problem, I'm going to have them convert my TX to PCM and order a PCM receiver. Hopefully, that is the answer.

Isn't the Eclipse PCM ready? I thought you just go into the menu and change it over...

The older Ecl;ipse is non PCM. Just the new ones coming out now have pcm.
